Barcelona president Joan Laporta calls Dro Fernandez’s move to PSG “unpleasant” after the 18-year-old midfielder left the club despite expectations he would sign a new contract.
Paris Saint-Germain paid €8.2m (£7.1m) to sign Fernandez, exceeding his release clause, and have offered him a deal until 2030. Fernandez, who joined Barcelona’s La Masia academy in 2022, made five senior appearances, including a Champions League debut.
Fernandez described the transfer as a “moment of huge pride,” calling PSG a club he’s followed since childhood. Barca coach Hansi Flick said young players should fully commit to the club and suggested the teenager might be making a mistake by moving to France.
