West Ham United Women boosted their survival hopes with a narrow win over Liverpool Women in the Women’s Super League.
An early corner from Viviane Asseyi led to the only goal of the game, as Liverpool’s Cornelia Kapocs turned the ball into her own net inside six minutes.
West Ham started strongly and created further chances through Asseyi, while Liverpool threatened from set pieces but were twice denied on the line by key defensive interventions from Estelle Cascarino.
Despite late pressure, Liverpool could not find an equaliser, leaving West Ham with a vital win that moves them further clear of the relegation zone.
