Reiten Quits Chelsea after Winning 13 Trophies in Six Years

0

Guro Reiten has left Chelsea F.C. Women after six years and 13 trophies to join American side Gotham FC. The Norwegian winger won six Women's Super League titles, four FA Cups, and three League Cups, scoring 59 goals in 207 appearances.

Reiten, 31, said leaving was emotional, recalling how she was convinced to join Chelsea in 2019 and found a “new family” at the club. Her playing time had been limited this season under coach Sonia Bompastor.

Chelsea thanked her for her contributions, while Gotham praised her as a player of “exceptional quality.” She joins Gotham on loan until July, when she will sign a permanent deal until 2029 in the NWSL.
