Rangers F.C. say they strongly condemn the fan disorder that happened during Sunday’s Old Firm derby in the Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox Stadium.
Fans and police officers were injured and several people were arrested after clashes on the pitch following Celtic F.C.’s penalty shootout win. The Scottish Football Association is launching an independent review to ensure such incidents do not happen again.
Rangers said the disorder was unacceptable and that safety must always come first in football. The club also promised to take action, including bans, against anyone found responsible.
They also condemned graffiti mocking the Ibrox disaster, which killed 66 fans in 1971, describing it as shameful and disrespectful.
