Marcus Rashford scored again as Barcelona beat Elche to move four points clear at the top of La Liga.
The champions went ahead early when Dani Olmo played through Lamine Yamal, who rounded goalkeeper Inaki Pena and scored into an empty net. Elche replied through Alvaro Rodriguez, who beat Barcelona’s high defence and finished calmly.
Barcelona regained the lead when Ferran Torres smashed in Frenkie de Jong’s cut-back. Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, came on at half-time and made it 3-1 with a simple tap-in after a low cross from Yamal.
It was Rashford’s 10th goal of the season and his second in two games. Barcelona dominated the match, created plenty of chances and hit the woodwork several times.
The win was Barcelona’s 15th in 16 games in all competitions and puts pressure on second-placed Real Madrid, who can reduce the gap when they play Rayo Vallecano.
