Gerwyn Price beat Michael van Gerwen 6-3 in the final on night two of the Premier League in Antwerp, ending Van Gerwen’s unbeaten start to the season.
Van Gerwen had won the opening night in Newcastle and reached another final after beating Luke Littler in the semi-finals. But this time, seven-time champion Van Gerwen was outplayed by Price, who had survived two tight matches earlier in the night before winning the final more comfortably.
Luke Littler had earlier defeated Luke Humphries in a close match to start the event’s first-ever visit to Belgium.
Price said he is playing some of the best darts of his career and believes more major titles will come soon.
