Nottingham Forest are close to appointing former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira as their new head coach.
Forest sacked Sean Dyche after a 0-0 draw with bottom club Wolves, leaving them just three points above the relegation zone with 12 games left. Talks with Pereira have progressed and a deal is said to be close.
The 57-year-old quickly became the top choice, partly because he previously worked with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at Olympiacos.
Pereira helped keep Wolves in the Premier League last season after joining midway through the campaign, but he was dismissed in November after a poor run of results.
If appointed, Pereira would become Forest’s fourth manager this season, following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche.
