Postecoglou says Tottenham are not a big Club

Ange Postecoglou has criticised Tottenham’s transfer policy and said the club are “not a big club” after Thomas Frank was sacked.

Frank, who replaced Postecoglou last summer, was dismissed with Spurs sitting just five points above the relegation zone.

Speaking on a podcast, Postecoglou praised Tottenham’s “unbelievable” facilities but said the club’s spending and wage structure meant they could not compete for top transfer targets like Pedro Neto, Bryan Mbeumo, Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi in 2024.

He said that while at Spurs, they were simply “not in the market” for those types of players financially.

Neto later joined Chelsea for £54m, Mbeumo moved to Manchester United for £65m, and Semenyo and Guehi signed for Manchester City in deals worth a combined £85m.
