Bellingham is injured and may miss England’s upcoming friendly matches

Jude Bellingham could miss England’s March friendlies because his hamstring injury may be worse than first thought.

The 22-year-old Real Madrid midfielder was expected to be out for about four weeks after getting injured earlier this month. However, his recovery could now take six to eight weeks.

If that happens, he may struggle to be fit in time for England’s friendly matches against Uruguay and Japan at Wembley.

England manager Thomas Tuchel said the club is being cautious about Bellingham’s recovery. He added that Bellingham is determined to return and is doing everything he can, but it is “a race against time.” Tuchel said he is hopeful, but not certain, that Bellingham will be fit.

Bellingham, who has 46 England caps, is seen as a key player for this summer’s World Cup, although others like Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers have recently played in his position.
