Murray thinks Crowley will take charge for Italy against England

Former Ireland scrum-half Conor Murray thinks Jack Crowley should start for Ireland in their Six Nations match against England at Twickenham next Saturday.

Crowley came on in the 56th minute in Ireland’s 20-13 win over Italy, and he successfully converted Rob Baloucoune’s try and added an important penalty.

Meanwhile, Sam Prendergast, who started alongside Craig Casey, missed two kicks. Murray feels that coach Andy Farrell might make a change, with Crowley and Jamison Gibson-Park as a possible new half-back pairing against England.

“I think Crowley should start the next game because he did really well when he came on,” Murray said on the Ireland Rugby Social podcast.
“His stats aren’t the same as before, but he kicked two points when he came in. One kick was easy, and you could argue Sam’s misses were also gettable.
“It’s Jack’s turn now. I’m just hoping someone takes the opportunity.”
