West Indies cricket team cruised into the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup with a dominant nine-wicket win over Nepal national cricket team at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Chasing 134, West Indies made light work of the target, reaching 44-1 in the powerplay and losing only Brandon King. Captain Shai Hope led the charge with 61 not out from 38 balls, while Shimron Hetmyer added an unbeaten 46 as they sealed victory with 28 balls to spare.

Earlier, Nepal struggled after being put in to bat, slipping to 22-3 in the powerplay. Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored with 58 and Sompal Kami added 26 not out, but Jason Holder’s 4-27 ensured Nepal were restricted to 133.

The result sends West Indies through and eliminates winless Nepal from the tournament.
