The Irish Rugby Football Union turned off comments on a social media post congratulating debutant Edwin Edogbo after it received racist abuse.
Edogbo, a Munster forward, made his Ireland debut off the bench in the 20-13 Six Nations win over Italy. The IRFU confirmed the abusive comments are being investigated and said it has a zero-tolerance policy towards racism.
Ireland coach Andy Farrell praised the 23-year-old after the match, calling his first cap an “amazing story” and saying the team were delighted to secure a win for him.
