Amelia Kerr replaces Sophie Devine as New Zealand captain

0

Amelia Kerr says it is a “massive privilege” to become New Zealand captain after taking over from Sophie Devine across all formats.

Devine, 36, led the White Ferns from 2020 and guided them to T20 World Cup glory in 2024 before stepping down from ODI cricket after the 2025 World Cup and giving up the T20I captaincy.

Kerr, 25, has played 172 internationals since debuting at 16, scoring 3,757 runs and taking 201 wickets. She was player of the tournament in the 2024 T20 World Cup and will lead the side for the first time in the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe.
