Michael Carrick has hinted he would like to stay on as Manchester United head coach beyond the end of the season, saying he feels “at home” at Old Trafford. Carrick has been in temporary charge since January, replacing Ruben Amorim, and has largely avoided discussing his long-term future.
Asked about his role in United’s summer plans, Carrick said his focus is on improving the team and making the club stronger, regardless of whether he stays or someone else takes over. He stressed that short-term results should not dictate big decisions, even as United have won three straight games since he took charge.
Carrick said he is enjoying the job but understands the situation, adding he is not getting carried away. Meanwhile, United are taking their time to assess permanent candidates. Carrick also confirmed Patrick Dorgu could be sidelined for up to 10 weeks with a hamstring injury and explained how Steve Holland joined his coaching staff through an FA connection.
