Aston Villa manager Unai Emery says his side are not Premier League title contenders, but he is dreaming of winning the Europa League after reaching the last 16.
Villa beat Fenerbahce 1-0 in Turkey to secure a top-eight finish in the league phase. However, after losing 1-0 to Everton, Emery admitted Villa are not among the Premier League’s top teams.
If Villa miss out on a top-four or top-five finish, winning the Europa League would be their only way into next season’s Champions League. Emery, a four-time Europa League winner, said the competition is a clear target for Villa this season as he looks to add more trophies to the club’s cabinet.
