Beto came off the bench to score a last-minute equaliser as Everton earned a dramatic Premier League draw away to Brighton. It looked like Pascal Gross’s goal would win the game for Brighton, but Beto struck in the 97th minute on his birthday, finishing the rebound after Jake O’Brien’s shot was saved.
Brighton dominated much of the first half and created the better chances, while Everton struggled to threaten before the break. The visitors improved after half-time, but Brighton finally took the lead when Gross finished a cross in the 73rd minute.
However, Brighton were caught late again as Beto’s stoppage-time goal rescued a point for Everton. The result leaves Everton eighth in the table, with Brighton three points behind in 13th.
