Ten-man Derby County managed to hold Birmingham City to a draw in a fiery game at St Andrew’s, with both teams ending the match with 10 players.
Derby went ahead through Patrick Agyemang in the 27th minute, but their task became harder when Joe Ward was sent off just before half-time after picking up a second yellow card. Birmingham pushed hard after the break and equalised through Jack Robinson, although the goal appeared to involve a handball that the officials missed. Birmingham captain Christoph Klarer was later sent off in stoppage time for a dangerous high-footed challenge, meaning both sides finished with 10 men.
Despite Birmingham hitting the woodwork and dominating late on, they could not find a winner, extending their winless run to five games. Derby, who played most of the second half with a man down, were happier to escape with a point after a controversial and hot-tempered encounter.
