Angola and Zimbabwe both earned their first points in Group B of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Marrakech, finishing 1-1. Angola’s star forward Gelson Dala put his side ahead with a goal from To Carneiro’s assist, but Zimbabwe legend Knowledge Musona equalised just before halftime with a clinical finish from Bill Antonio’s pass.
In the second half, both teams had chances to win. Zimbabwe goalkeeper Washington Arubi made key saves, while Angola’s Hugo Marques also denied Tawanda Chirewa and helped block Prince Dube’s attempt.
Angola will face Egypt and Zimbabwe play South Africa in their final group matches on Monday. The result keeps the door open for either Egypt or South Africa to advance to the knockout stage if they win their next game.
