Man Utd send message to free agent De Gea

David De Gea's contract at Manchester United was allowed to expire this weekend because he was busy getting married.

Talks were put on hold as the club did not want to interrupt his time away with his family in Spain. 

But, in a potential nod to their intention to keep him on, United's official Instagram account has congratulated the goalkeeper on his nuptials with a comment below his latest post.

It reads: "Felicidades, David." Translated from Spanish that simply means congratulations.

De Gea is officially a free agent and no longer a Man Utd player, but talks over a new deal will be resumed in due course, Sky Sports News has been told.
