Tuchel confirms player to miss Chelsea, Malmo clash

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has confirmed that Christian Pulisic will not participate in his side’s squad to face Malmo in Wednesday’s Champions League tie at Stamford Bridge.

According to Tuchel, Pulisic is getting close to returning to action for Chelsea, adding that the US international still feels pain in his ankle.

The German said this on Tuesday during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Malmo clash.

Chelsea head to the game following a 1-0 victory against Brentford in the Premier League over the weekend.

“It’s only Christian Pulisic who is missing for tomorrow,” Tuchel said.

“He was getting close [to a return] but then had a little reaction with some pain in his ankle.

“Christian is impatient because he wants to play, he wants to be on the pitch helping us and we can see how much he is suffering in team meetings when he can’t be involved. This is normal.

“It’s difficult for him. He got injured during a match for the USA, he suffered a tough foul and hurt his ankle.”

The kick-off time for Chelsea vs Malmo is 8 pm.
