Trabzonspor have become the first club to submit an official offer for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, lodging a loan bid with Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of the new season.
The Turkish Super Lig outfit have been monitoring the Nigerian international for several weeks and have now taken a decisive step in their pursuit by formally approaching Wolves.
According to Turkish journalist Zeki Uzundurukan, Trabzonspor view the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for fellow Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu, should he leave the club this summer. However, negotiations could prove challenging, with Arokodare still tied to a long-term contract at Molineux.
The striker has emerged as a sought-after target following Wolves' relegation from the Premier League, which ended the club's eight-year stay in the English top flight.
Wolves are aiming for an immediate return to the Premier League under new head coach Cesar Peixoto, who succeeded Rob Edwards. The club has already strengthened its squad with the additions of experienced players Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez as part of its rebuilding plans.
Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk in the summer of 2025 on a four-year contract, with the option of an additional year. His debut campaign in England proved challenging, as he made 33 Premier League appearances, starting only 13 matches while featuring predominantly as a substitute.
Trabzonspor are not alone in the race for the Nigerian's signature. Turkish rivals Besiktas and Fenerbahce are also interested, with reports claiming Besiktas had a €15 million verbal bid rejected by Wolves. The Istanbul club are also said to have enlisted former Nigeria international Daniel Amokachi and Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to help persuade Arokodare that a move to Turkey would be the right step for his career.
