Charles Leclerc has committed his future to Ferrari after signing a new long-term contract with the Formula 1 team.

The agreement for the 28-year-old Monegasque driver comes ahead of this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, his home race. While Ferrari did not disclose the exact length of the deal, the team said the extension will keep Leclerc in Maranello for the “coming seasons”.

Leclerc, who joined Ferrari in 2019, has made 155 race starts for the Scuderia, claiming eight victories and establishing himself as one of the sport’s leading drivers. He currently sits third in the Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship.

The Monaco native also boasts an impressive record at his home circuit, having secured pole position three times in the past six years, alongside two front-row starts and one third-place qualification.

“I couldn't be happier to continue this journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP,” Leclerc said.

“It has always been much more than just a team to me. Ferrari is the team I loved and dreamed of racing for as a child, and over the years it has become a second family.

“Together, we have experienced incredible highs and overcome difficult moments, but I believe in this team more than ever. I’m deeply grateful that we will continue working side by side towards our shared goal of bringing the World Championship back to Maranello.

“Being a Ferrari driver is a dream, but it also carries a responsibility that I never take for granted. I will continue to give everything I have to help return this team to where it belongs — at the very top — for everyone in Maranello and, above all, for the tifosi, whose passion is the heartbeat of Ferrari.”
