Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has shared his reaction following his side’s 2–1 international friendly victory over Nigeria’s Nigeria national football team on Wednesday.
Ronaldo was in action as Portugal edged the Super Eagles at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria.
Pedro Neto opened the scoring for the hosts in the 23rd minute before Akor Adams restored parity for Eric Chelle’s side before the break.
Portugal regained the lead in the second half through Francisco Conceição, whose goal proved decisive as the European side secured victory.
Reacting after the match, Ronaldo took to Instagram to express his satisfaction with Portugal’s preparations ahead of the FIFA World Cup, stressing that the team’s focus now shifts fully to the tournament.
“The preparation is done. Eyes on the World Cup,” Ronaldo wrote alongside a photo of himself in action against Nigeria.
Portugal have been drawn in Group K and will face DR Congo national football team, Colombia national football team and Uzbekistan national football team in the group stage of the World Cup.
