Teenage cricket sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi capped off a remarkable IPL season by winning a car and sweeping several of the tournament’s top individual awards.

The 15-year-old Rajasthan Royals star was named the IPL’s Most Valuable Player after scoring an outstanding 776 runs in 16 innings at a blistering strike rate of 237.30.

Despite Rajasthan failing to reach the final, Sooryavanshi also claimed the Emerging Player award and the Orange Cap, awarded to the season’s leading run-scorer.

Among his rewards was a Tata Sierra SUV, although the youngster will have to wait another three years before he can legally drive it, as India’s minimum driving age is 18.

Sooryavanshi’s prize haul was worth more than £30,000, capping a breakthrough campaign that has established him as one of cricket’s brightest young talents.
