Real Madrid CF have officially begun the process to elect a new president and board of directors for the 2026–2030 cycle.
The club announced that candidates will have until May 23 to submit their applications after the electoral board formally opened the process in accordance with the club’s statutes.
Current president Florentino Pérez has confirmed he will seek another term despite growing scrutiny following a disappointing season for the Spanish giants.
To qualify, candidates must have been club members for at least 20 years and provide a financial guarantee worth 15 per cent of the club’s annual budget reported to be about €187 million.
Businessman Enrique Riquelme is among the names reportedly considering a challenge to Pérez in the upcoming election.
