Pep Guardiola has praised former Sir Alex Ferguson as the greatest manager in English football history.
Speaking ahead of Manchester City F.C.’s final Premier League match against Aston Villa F.C., Guardiola highlighted Ferguson’s longevity and success at Manchester United F.C. as key reasons for his status.
“The tenure, the time, and for many, many reasons… he is the greatest in this country,” Guardiola said, adding that he was pleased the legendary United boss had been able to watch City’s modern success.
Ferguson, who retired in 2013 after a decorated spell at Old Trafford, won 13 Premier League titles and multiple European honours during his reign, setting a benchmark that remains unmatched in English football.
