Marshall Munetsi says the Zimbabwe national football team are eager to test themselves against the Nigeria national football team ahead of their semi-final clash at the Unity Cup.

Zimbabwe, coached by Kaitano Tembo, will face the three-time African champions next Tuesday at the Valley in what will be a key preparatory fixture for both sides.

Munetsi, who joined up with the squad in Birmingham, said the match offers a valuable opportunity for new and existing players to build chemistry as they prepare for upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“We have some big games coming up, the first one is against Nigeria, which everyone is looking forward to,” he said, adding that while the Unity Cup is important, the focus remains on long-term competitive qualifiers.

The midfielder emphasised that the tournament will help the Warriors assess their progress and integrate fresh faces into the squad ahead of more demanding international fixtures.
