Reports suggest that Chelsea FC could approve their first major summer departure under new manager Xabi Alonso, with striker João Pedro attracting strong interest from FC Barcelona.
According to recent reports, Barcelona sporting director Deco has already held talks with João Pedro’s representatives, while Alonso has publicly responded cautiously to the speculation, saying: “That’s football, and we’ll build a good team.”
The Brazilian forward only joined Chelsea recently after a big-money move from Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., where he enjoyed an impressive season with 15 Premier League goals. However, Barcelona are reportedly exploring him as an alternative attacking target.
At the same time, Alonso is expected to reshape the squad this summer, with Chelsea linked to several reinforcements including Morgan Rogers, Jan Paul van Hecke and Granit Xhaka.
