Ipswich Town and Southampton played out a dramatic draw that keeps the Championship promotion race alive heading into the final day of the season.
Jack Clarke scored a late equaliser for Ipswich after a back-and-forth contest at St Mary’s, ensuring the Tractor Boys remain in control of their automatic promotion hopes, while Southampton confirmed their place in the play-offs.
Wes Burns had put Ipswich ahead before Southampton responded through a deflected Ryan Manning free-kick and a well-taken strike from Cyle Larin. However, Clarke’s late volley salvaged a crucial point for Kieran McKenna’s side.
The result means Ipswich can no longer be caught by Southampton, but with Middlesbrough and Millwall still in contention, the fight for promotion will go down to the final round of fixtures.
