Nikola Jokic was ejected late on as the Denver Nuggets fell to defeat against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who moved to the brink of winning their playoff series.
The incident came in the final seconds with the game already decided, when Jaden McDaniels scored an uncontested lay-up instead of running down the clock. Jokic reacted angrily, confronting and shoving McDaniels, which sparked a brief scuffle between both teams.
As a result, Jokic and Timberwolves forward Julius Randle were both ejected, adding tension to an already heated series.
Despite Jokic putting up an impressive performance with 24 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists, Denver could not keep up as Minnesota secured a 112-96 win. A standout display from Ayo Dosunmu, who scored a career-high 43 points, helped the Timberwolves take a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The result leaves the Nuggets on the brink of elimination, needing to win the next game to keep their playoff hopes alive.
