
Jean-Philippe Mateta ended his three-month goal drought as Crystal Palace beat Fiorentina 3-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League quarter-final.
Mateta scored from the penalty spot in the 24th minute after a foul, before also helping in the build-up to Palace’s second goal, which was finished by Tyrick Mitchell.
Ismaila Sarr sealed the win with a late header, giving Palace a strong lead heading into the second leg in Florence.
The result puts Palace close to their first major European semi-final.
