Teenager Mika Stojsavljevic shocked higher-ranked Talia Gibson in straight sets as Great Britain took a 2-0 lead over Australia in the Billie Jean King Cup.
The 17-year-old, ranked 275th, won 7-6 7-5 on her debut in Melbourne. Harriet Dart then came from a set down to beat Kimberly Birrell in three sets, putting Britain in control.
Great Britain now need just one more win from the remaining matches to reach the finals in Shenzhen.
