Coventry chairman Doug King says fans should not worry about Frank Lampard’s links with Chelsea, insisting the head coach is happy at the club after leading them to the Championship title and promotion.
Lampard guided Coventry City back to the Premier League for the first time in over 25 years, boosting his reputation and attracting interest from Chelsea, who are searching for a new manager after Liam Rosenior’s sacking.
King admitted it is normal for top managers to be linked with other clubs but stressed Lampard is in a “happy place” and fully connected with Coventry. He also said the club will not panic or overspend as they prepare for life in the Premier League, focusing instead on smart planning.
While acknowledging a big offer could come in the future, King made it clear he is not concerned and wants everyone to enjoy the club’s success rather than worry about what might happen next.
