Enzo Fernandez will miss Chelsea FC’s next two matches after manager Liam Rosenior said he “crossed a line” with recent comments about his future.
The midfielder had admitted he was unsure if he would stay at the club, which Rosenior felt went against the culture Chelsea are trying to build. As a result, Fernandez has been dropped for the FA Cup game against Port Vale FC and the Premier League clash with Manchester City FC.
Rosenior said the decision was supported by the club’s leadership and players, stressing it is a temporary sanction rather than a long-term issue, with the door still open for Fernandez to return.
