Franziska Kett went from hero to villain as Bayern Munich held FC Barcelona in their Champions League semi-final first leg.
Barcelona took an early lead through Ewa Pajor after a smart assist from Esmee Brugts, and dominated much of the game with their possession and attacking play.
Kett then brought Bayern level in the second half, scoring her first Champions League goal from close range after a well-worked move involving Pernille Harder.
However, her night took a turn when she was sent off for pulling Salma Paralluelo’s hair, reducing Bayern to 10 players. Manager Jose Barcala was also dismissed during the heated moments.
Despite heavy late pressure from Barcelona, Bayern defended resolutely to keep the score level, leaving the tie finely balanced ahead of the second leg at Camp Nou.
