Aryna Sabalenka fought back from a set and a break down to defeat Naomi Osaka and reach the quarter-finals at the Madrid Open.
The world number one recovered after losing a tight first-set tie-break, raising her level to win 6-7 (1-7) 6-3 6-2 in just over two hours.
Osaka pushed hard early on and briefly led in the second set, but Sabalenka responded strongly, breaking serve repeatedly and taking control of the match.
The Belarusian, chasing another strong clay-court run, closed out the deciding set in dominant fashion, conceding just three points to seal a hard-fought comeback victory.
