Beau Greaves made history by becoming the first woman to win a Professional Darts Corporation ranking title after a dramatic 8-7 victory over former world champion Michael Smith in the Players Championship 11 final in Milton Keynes.
The 22-year-old held her nerve in a tense deciding leg, finishing with a composed 142 checkout before sealing the win on double 11 to cap a landmark moment in her career.
Greaves reached the final in impressive fashion, beating top players along the way including Rob Cross and Gary Anderson, underlining her growing reputation on the professional circuit.
The breakthrough adds to a remarkable rise for Greaves, who has previously dominated the PDC Women’s Series with a 114-match winning streak and also became the first woman to hit a nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour.
Her victory comes in a tournament that also saw several high-profile exits, including world number two Luke Humphries, who was knocked out in the third round, while other major names were absent from the field.
