Adama Traoré has been banned from lifting weights at West Ham’s training ground by manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Nuno joked that the powerful winger already “carries enough weight” and should stay out of the gym, despite his impressive physique. The decision came after a social media video showed Traoré bench-pressing 145kg at the club’s Rush Green base.
The 30-year-old joined West Ham United from Fulham in January for a deal worth up to £2m. Since his move, he has made four substitute appearances in the Premier League and one FA Cup start.
Nuno, who previously coached Traoré at Wolverhampton Wanderers, insists the winger’s chance will come as West Ham fight to avoid relegation.
