Real Madrid suffered their second consecutive home defeat in La Liga as Getafe stunned them 1-0 at the Bernabéu.
Martin Satriano scored a spectacular volley before half-time to give Getafe the win, leaving Madrid four points behind Barcelona with 26 games played. Kylian Mbappé missed the match due to a knee injury, and Madrid struggled to break down Getafe’s solid defense.
Vinicius Jr had a clear chance saved by David Soria, and several other opportunities went begging despite substitutions from Álvaro Arbeloa, including Trent Alexander-Arnold coming off.
The match ended in further controversy as Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono was sent off for abusive language, followed by Getafe’s Adrián Liso for a second yellow card. Madrid have now lost four of Arbeloa’s 12 games in charge and will face Celta Vigo next on Friday.
