Michael Owen says he cannot understand why some people are questioning whether Michael Carrick should become the permanent manager of Manchester United F.C..
Carrick, a former United midfielder, became caretaker boss after Ruben Amorim was sacked in January. The 44-year-old has won six of his eight matches in charge and helped the team move from sixth to third in the Premier League.
Owen said Carrick has brought calm back to the club and believes he deserves the job if the team finishes strongly this season.
Wayne Rooney also backed Carrick, saying everyone at Manchester United supports him and that he has done an excellent job so far.
