Jack Draper was knocked out of Indian Wells after a controversial hindrance call during his quarter-final loss to Daniil Medvedev.
Draper lost 6-1 7-5, but the turning point came in the second set at 5-5 when he briefly stretched out his arms during a rally to signal he thought Medvedev’s shot had gone long. After a video review, umpire Aurelie Tourte ruled it as hindrance and awarded the point to Medvedev.
The decision was met with loud boos from the crowd, and Draper was broken soon after, allowing Medvedev to close out the match.
Despite the tense moment, the two players shared a friendly conversation at the net after the match.
