Manchester United could move to sign a new left winger this summer, according to head coach Michael Carrick, despite the club spending recent transfer windows offloading wide players under Ruben Amorim.
United began last season with several experienced wingers, including Jadon Sancho, Antony, Amad Diallo, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho. However, departures and loans mean Amad is now the only natural wide option left in the squad.
Carrick said the club are always assessing squad balance and admitted a left winger is “definitely something to look at,” suggesting United may now return to the transfer market to strengthen that position.
