Manchester City W.F.C. saw their push for the Women's Super League title slowed after a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa W.F.C..
Villa played better in the first half and forced City goalkeeper Khiara Keating to make several good saves. Chasity Grantalso came close but her shot hit the post.
City improved after halftime and created chances. Rebecca Knaak nearly scored with a header, but Villa keeper Ellie Roebuck made a strong save. A corner from Alex Greenwood was also cleared off the line.
City thought they should have had a penalty when Lucy Parker fouled Khadija Shaw, but it was not given.
Late chances from Vivianne Miedema were not enough, so City had to settle for a draw. The result keeps them nine points clear at the top, while Villa end a run of five straight defeats.
