Manchester United beat Aston Villa thanks to late goals from Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko in the fight for UEFA Champions League qualification.
The match was quiet in the first half, but things improved after the break. Bruno Fernandes played a key role by delivering a corner that Casemiro flicked into the net to give United the lead.
Villa equalised when Ross Barkley scored on his first Premier League start in 14 months.
But United responded late in the game. Fernandes set up Cunha with a brilliant through ball, and the Brazilian finished calmly. Substitute Sesko then sealed the win with a deflected shot.
The victory keeps United third in the league under interim boss Michael Carrick and gives him a sixth straight home win. Meanwhile, Villa’s poor run continues, putting their Champions League hopes at risk.
