Carrick plays down talk of personal battle with Glasner

0

Michael Carrick says facing Oliver Glasner is not personal as Manchester United FC prepare to take on Crystal Palace FC.

Glasner has been linked with the permanent United job, while Carrick is currently the bookmakers’ favourite after guiding United to five wins and a draw in six matches as interim boss.

Victory at Old Trafford would move United up to third in the Premier League for the first time since the 2022-23 season — motivation enough for Carrick.

He said the speculation about the manager’s job “doesn’t make any difference whatsoever” and insisted his focus is only on the next game.

United’s improved form has put them firmly in the race for Champions League places, especially with fifth-placed Chelsea facing tough upcoming fixtures.

Carrick took charge after the sacking of Ruben Amorim in January and says the team are “moving forwards” but still aiming to climb higher in the table.
