Emanuel Navarrete produced a dominant performance to stop compatriot Eduardo Nunez and unify the IBF and WBO super-featherweight world titles.
Navarrete controlled most of the fight before the ringside doctor halted the contest prior to the 11th round, adding the IBF belt to his existing WBO crown.
The win, at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, was the 40th of Navarrete’s 43-fight career and ended Nunez’s 19-fight winning streak.
After landing heavy shots in the later rounds, Navarrete left Nunez with a badly swollen eye and a bloodied face, prompting officials to stop the bout.
The three-weight world champion could now face either O'Shaquie Foster, the WBC title holder, or Lamont Roach, who holds the WBA belt, in a future unification clash.
