Watford FC moved up to seventh in the Championship table after a 2-1 win away at Bristol City FC, leapfrogging their play-off rivals.
Luca Kjerrumgaard gave Watford the perfect start after just seven minutes, cleverly lifting the ball over goalkeeper Radek Vitek. The visitors nearly added a second before half-time when Saba Goglichidze hit the post.
Bristol City responded before the break, with Scott Twine heading in from an Adam Randell cross to make it 1-1.
The game looked set to end in a draw until Jeremy Ngakia produced a brilliant strike from outside the box, curling the ball into the top corner in the second half to seal the win.
The result leaves Watford just three points behind sixth-placed Wrexham AFC before the rest of the weekend’s matches. Bristol City drop to ninth and have now gone three home games without a win.
Despite late pressure from the hosts, Watford held firm to take all three points and strengthen their bid for a play-off spot.
