Teenager Rayan scored his first goal in English football as Bournemouth held Aston Villa to a draw, denying Villa the chance to go second in the Premier League.
Aston Villa took the lead in the 22nd minute with their first shot on target, as Morgan Rogers combined with Jadon Sancho before firing the ball into the net. Rayan had already hit the crossbar in the first half and levelled the game early in the second half with a brilliant solo goal.
The 19-year-old Brazilian, making his first start since joining from Vasco da Gama for £24.7m, picked up the ball on the right, beat Lucas Digne and scored low past Emiliano Martinez.
Bournemouth nearly won it late on, but Ryan Christie’s shot was tipped over the bar by Martinez. Villa would have moved above Manchester City with a win, but the draw keeps them third, level on points with City and nine points behind league leaders Arsenal.
