Aiden Markram hit 82 not out as South Africa beat West Indies by nine wickets to stay unbeaten at the 2026 T20 World Cup.
South Africa chased down 177 with ease, finishing the job with 23 balls left. Captain Markram led the way with seven fours and four sixes, sharing a 95-run opening stand with Quinton de Kock (47). Ryan Rickelton added 45 not out as the Proteas moved two points clear at the top of Group 1 in the Super 8s.
The win puts South Africa close to the semi-finals, though they are not yet guaranteed a spot.
West Indies had looked in trouble at 83-7 after early strikes from Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi. However, Romario Shepherd (52*) and Jason Holder (49) added 89 runs for the eighth wicket to lift them to 176.
In the end, South Africa’s strong batting display ensured they remained unbeaten in the tournament.
