Cristiano Ronaldo has become co-owner of Spanish side Almeria after buying a 25% stake in the club.

The 41-year-old Al-Nassr forward purchased the share through his company, CR7 Sports Investments. While the financial details were not revealed, Ronaldo said he wants to help support the next phase of Almeria’s growth and contribute to football beyond playing.

Almeria are owned by a Saudi investment group led by Mohammed Al-Khereiji, who praised Ronaldo as one of the greatest players ever and said his experience in Spanish football will help the club’s development.

Ronaldo previously spent nine years at Real Madrid, winning two La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies. He has played for Al-Nassr since 2022.

Almeria, founded in 1989, are currently third in Spain’s Segunda Division, just two points behind leaders Real Racing with 15 games left to play.
